Phase I of the Madonna Construction Project is now complete. Students entered the new classrooms on January 5th to find a new look to the learning environment at Madonna High School. Each class is complete with a SMARTBOARD, as well as a projector mounted to the ceiling, which feeds into the SMARTBOARDS to be used for an assortment of technology uses, as well as video feeds. Each room has two eight-foot whiteboards, as well as one twelve-foot whiteboard mounted on the walls, along with a corkboard for displaying information or student work. Each room has new floor tile, which is white in the center with a blue trim. All windows will be equipped with blinds, which are currently being ordered and are expected to be up in the near future.
The project is now moving to Phases II and III. Phase II began on December 19th and includes the computer lab, science labs, along with three classrooms. The current plans that are being discussed include improving our current computer lab, developing a new library at Madonna that would be an asset to our students for research, as well as two staff restrooms, and two classrooms. Our goal is to equip each of these classrooms with the technology and resources that are necessary to give our students the finest education that can be provided.
Phase III will begin in approximately April and will include three classrooms, our chemistry lab, as well as our chapel and conference room. The completion of these three phases is estimated to be complete in the summer of 2009 to allow our students to enter the completed classrooms for the 2009-10 school year. Please feel free to stop by at any time to see the wonderful improvements that are taking place at Madonna High School!
